In the line of duty, firefighters face numerous risks, including exposure to major bloodborne pathogens such as HBV, HCV, and HIV, among others. These pathogens pose significant threats, potentially leading to serious or even life-threatening infections for those exposed. With SUPER ARMOR firefighting suits, firefighters can confidently engage in rescuing those with severe injuries, even in situations involving significant blood exposure. With this advanced level of protection, firefighters can focus on their critical mission of saving lives without compromising their own safety and well-being. Suspender is another feature of Super Armor firefighting suit. The band could be elastic or non-elastic, subject to user’s preference. We also developed a new knitted pad – Mazic® Comfort. The pad is an integral whole knitted fabric to provide soft, elasticity, and fire resistance. It effectively releases firefighter’s stress point when wearing oxygen cylinder. Super Armor firefighting suit is optional to employ a smart RFID chip. This RFID chip withstands up to 200 times of washing, endures drying process as high as 185°C, and holds up to the pressing force of 600-800 lbs. We see wearable technologies as a combination of research in fireproof materials and expertise from IT industry. In addition to protection performance, our next goal is to integrating SUPER ARMOR firefighting suit with information technology and carry out Fire Scene Personnel Control Solution.
