General Information As per the new SIA rules which were introduced on 1st April 2021 all SIA Security Officers Licence holders must complete compulsory ‘Top Up’ training to renew their licences. The training consists of a distance learning course of study which must be completed prior to attendance on the course and all delegates must have attended and passed a Emergency First Aid at Work Course (or equivalent) prior to attendance on the top up course. Duration 0.5 day Self Study – Distance learning Pre-requisites SIA Security Officer licence holder (must not have expired no longer than 3 years prior to the course start date or be in date). English language – Level 1 equivalent Have completed the ACT online terrorism awareness package Assessment Assessment for the top up course include: Multiple choice exam: Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry – 20 minutes – 10 MCQ Principles of Minimising Personal Risk for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry – 25 minutes – 16 MCQ
